Learning outcomes
PR04. Understand the basic terms, concepts, principles, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the boundaries of subject areas. PR07. Demonstrate knowledge of the structural organization of biological systems at the molecular level of the organization. PR08. Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biological processes, structure and functions of living organisms. PR10. To establish regularities of interaction of living organisms of different forms of structural organization with each other, features of influence of various factors on living organisms and to estimate their role in biosphere processes of biotic transformation of substances and energy. PR16. Choose methods, algorithms for planning and conducting field, laboratory, clinical and laboratory research, including mathematical methods and software for research, processing and presentation of results.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successfully master the courses "Botany", "Plant Physiology", "Biochemistry", "Ecology", "Inorganic Chemistry", "Organic Chemistry", "Microbiology", "Plant Growth and Development". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of plant anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry and other disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Have basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological and chemical laboratories.
Course content
The discipline "Root nutrition of plants" is a selective discipline, which forms a comprehensive view of: the structure and function of the root system of plants as an organ of absorption and metabolism; mechanisms of absorption and transportation of mineral elements, metabolism and physiological and biochemical significance of the most important macro- and microelements; ecological significance of root secretions, diagnostics of plant nutrition, physiological bases of fertilizer use.
