Learning outcomes
PR04. Understand basic terms, concepts, principles, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the borders of subject areas. PR07. Demonstrate knowledge of the structural organization of biological systems at the molecular level of the organization. PR08. Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biological processes, structure and functions of living organisms. PR10. To establish regularities of interaction of living organisms of different forms of structural organization with each other, features of influence of various factors on living organisms and to estimate their role in biosphere processes of biotic transformation of substances and energy. PR16. Choose methods, algorithms for planning and conducting field, laboratory, clinical and laboratory research, including mathematical methods and software for research, processing and presentation of results.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successfully master the disciplines "Botany", "Plant Physiology", "Methods of Experimental Plant Biology". 2. Be able to apply knowledge of botany, anatomy and physiology of plants, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Have basic skills in using information and communication technologies.
Course content
The course consists of sections on the peculiarities of plant growth and development, their basic patterns and regulation at the cellular, intercellular and organismal levels. The course examines the cellular basis of growth and morphogenesis, the phenomena of photoperiodism and vernalization, the importance of the phytochrome system, regeneration and periodicity of growth, methods of plant reproduction.

Semester assessment: 1. Test work on the 1st topic: RN 1.1., 1.2. - 26 points / 13 points. 2. Test work on the 2nd topic: RN 1.3. - 24 points / 12 points. 3. Presentation / report of the RN 2.1., 2.2., 3.1. - 10 points / 5 points. - final assessment: Exam.
