Learning outcomes
Such students’ academic achievements as: knowledge of basic theoretical legal approaches and system of sources of law in general, system of sources of criminal law of Ukraine; application peculiarities of norms of criminal law considering constitutional and international legal norms.; features of application of norms of criminal law considering constitutional and international legal norms; features of the content of certain sources of criminal law of Ukraine. Skills: to use the acquired knowledge in the practice of criminal law, provided by various sources, as well as to formulate advises to improve the content of relevant sources of criminal law. Communication: to participate in professional discussions concerning the sources of criminal law. Autonomy and responsibility: to be able to study independently the problems of sources of criminal law.

Effective study of courses "Criminal Law", "Constitutional Law", "International Public Law".
Course content
The course "Sources of Criminal Law" provides students with the main provisions and problems of the sources of criminal law, the peculiarities of the functioning of criminal law in the constitutional and international legal aspects, the impact of judicial practice (including the practice of the Supreme Court of Ukraine) for the progressive development of criminal law.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching strategies: 1) lecture - a detailed theoretical report on the sources of criminal law; 2) an assignment solvation - effective estimation of hypothetical law enforcement situations under the rules of criminal law; 3) independent work - individual study of certain norms, including the list of recommended reading.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final score includes the sum of points obtained during the semester assessment (up to 40 points) and points obtained for the final test (up to 60 points). It consists of four components: 1) a case solvation - effective estimation of hypothetical law enforcement situations under the active rules of criminal law; 2) to answer to a theoretical question; 3) a conclusion on the completeness and correctness of the implementation in the criminal legislation of Ukraine of certain provisions of the criminal law nature regarding the mandatory international treaties. Assessment is based on the results of the semester and consists of points based on the results of lectures and seminars.
