PR03. Plan, execute, analyze data and present the results of experimental research in the field of biology. PR05. Demonstrate skills in assessing unforeseen biological problems and making informed choices PR09. Adhere to the provisions of biological ethics, rules of biological safety and biological protection in the process of learning and professional activities. PR19. Apply in practice methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of the organization. PR20. Argue the choice of methods, algorithms for planning and conducting field, laboratory, clinical and laboratory research, including mathematical methods and software for research, processing and presentation of results.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the material of lectures and practical / seminar / laboratory classes in the obligatory academic disciplines of biological direction, which are taught to students of the educational level "Bachelor" in the first and second years. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of chemistry, physics, mathematics. 3. Knowledge of the basic principles of basic biological research methods. 4. Possession of basic skills in the use of laboratory equipment and reagents for experimental research in a particular field of biology. 5. Ability to present the results of experiments in the form of presentations and reports, to conduct a scientific discussion. 6. Ability to work with electronic databases and search for scientific articles.
Course content
During the internship the student gets an idea of ​​the methodology of scientific research, gets acquainted with the principles of planning and conducting experiments, methods of biological research, rules of processing and presentation of scientific results, algorithms for searching scientific literature and its critical thinking. An important component of the practice is the formation of the student's idea of ​​the organization of science in Ukraine and the world, including information on scientific activities of leading domestic academic institutes, research projects and developments of ESC "Institute of Biology and Medicine", international grants, scholarships, schools and more.
