Learning outcomes
The student should know the principles of interaction of end devices and networks; principles of logical addressing; OSI and TCP/IP models, principles of operation of protocols from the TCP/IP stack; methods of tracking and eliminating problems in wired networks; principles of wireless networks; the difference between standards for wireless networks; signal coding methods in wireless networks; methods of encryption and authentication in wireless networks; means of monitoring and eliminating problems in the wireless network; basic problem tracking strategies.
The student must be able to configure network devices; create simple networks; monitor malfunctions in the main network; use the working hypothesis principle.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline "Computer networks" is based on the cycle of professional and practical training disciplines, in particular, "Hardware and software", "Radio circuits and signals", "Radio electronics", "Coursework in electronics" which are taught in previous semesters.
Prerequisites:
1. Know the principles of ensuring information security
2. To be able to use methods and means of modeling and designing electronic circuits.
Course content
The basis of modern information systems is a developed IT infrastructure, which, in particular, contains numerous computing resources provided by various servers. These servers are connected by computer networks that are created using numerous network technologies. The effectiveness of the functioning of information networks depends on the effectiveness of the functioning of computer networks systems of all levels of the hierarchy, therefore it is necessary to know: modern technologies for building computer networks; the place of computer networks in information networks; the influence of the features of the functioning of computer networks, built according to separate specifications, on the functioning of information systems; how to ensure the interaction of components of distributed information systems at different levels of the hierarchy to build integrated information systems. The technologies on which the work of computer networks is based are constantly
are developing Therefore, the course examines the main network devices, as well as the protocols, standards and models according to which these devices work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation: control is carried out according to the following principle. The academic semester has one meaningful module. After the substantive module, a modular control work is conducted.
The final assessment is in the form of a credit. the form of assessment is written and oral. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the assessment. A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is obtaining at least 60 points.
