To know the theoretical foundations of geodesy, higher and engineering geodesy, topographic and thematic mapping, mapping and updating, remote sensing and photogrammetry, land management, real estate valuation and land cadastre. PLO 4. Apply methods and technologies for the creation of state geodetic networks and special engineering geodetic networks, topographic surveys, topographic and geodetic measurements for the survey, design, construction and operation of engineering structures, public, industrial and agricultural complexes using modern ground and aerospace methods. PLO 6. Use geodetic and photogrammetric equipment and technologies, methods of mathematical processing of geodetic and photogrammetric measurements.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of theoretical and practical foundations of geodesy, radio wave physics, geographic information systems and technologies. 2. Possession of skills in the software environment of the geographic information system.
Course content
The course consists of two content modules. The first one is devoted to the study of theoretical principles of construction and functioning of global satellite positioning systems GPS and GLONASS, coordinate systems used in satellite positioning systems, factors affecting the accuracy of geodetic measurements by satellite methods. The second one deals directly with the mechanism of geodetic measurements by modern satellite geodetic instruments, peculiarities of functioning of global satellite positioning systems GPS and GLONASS when used for solving geodetic problems, the procedure for creating geodetic networks by satellite methods in land management and cadastre.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical work, exam
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is carried out during the semester based on the results of practical work (three assessments) and a control test after completing the tasks of the first content module and a final test at the end of the course. The total grade for the discipline is derived by summing the points obtained during the semester and during the exam.
