            Learning outcomes
        
        
            LO3. Formalize problem sets up in the language of a subject area; define mathematical formulation and choose a rational problem-solving approach; solve the obtained problems with analytical and numerical methods, evaluate the accuracy and reliability of the results. LO5. Be able to develop and use in practice algorithms related to the approximation of functional dependencies, numerical differentiation and integration, solving systems of algebraic, differential and integral equations, solving boundary value problems, finding optimal solutions. LO10. Build efficient algorithms regarding the accuracy of calculations, stability, speed and cost of system resources for numerical study of mathematical models and solution of practical problems. LO13. Solve particular engineering problems and/or problems that arise in at least one subject area: sociology, economics, ecology, and medicine. LO19. Communicate effectively on information, ideas, problems and solutions with professionals and society.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            1. Know: the main stages and principles of application software design; current trends in computer science.
2. Be able to: apply in practice the knowledge and skills of computer science in the design and development of application software; apply in practice the knowledge gained while listening to previous courses of the educational program.
3. Master skills: programming, use of software tools for software design and development; conducting theoretical and/or experimental research in the field of computer science; apply mathematical methods and algorithmic principles in modeling, design, development and maintenance of information technology; to develop, implement and maintain intelligent systems for analysis and data processing of organizational, technical, natural and socio-economic systems.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The purpose of the discipline is to systematize, consolidate and expand students' theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as their application in solving specific professional problems; development of independent work skills; mastering research methods and other forms of work; consolidation of knowledge, skills acquired in mastering the disciplines of the theoretical cycle. students' mastery of modern methods, forms of organization and tools, education of the need to systematically update their knowledge and creatively apply them in practice. Qualification work involves theoretical, systemic or experimental study of a complex specialized task or practical problem in the field of computer science, which is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions and requires the use of theories and methods of information technology.

            Final evaluation (in the form of protection). The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by students as a result of the defense of final qualification theses is 100 points / 60 points, of which:
1. Relevance of the topic - 5 points / 3 points.
2. Scientific component of the work - 25 points / 15 points.
3. Use of scientific literature - 10 points / 6 points.
4. Analysis and interpretation of the obtained results 30 points / 18 points.
5. Structure of work - 5 points / 3 points.
6. Quality of work design - 5 points / 3 points.
7. Presentation of the work - 10 points / 6 points.
8. Answers to the questions of the commission members - 10 points / 6 points.
All final theses of students must be tested for plagiarism before defense.
