To define and reveal the essence of current social and political problems, conflicts of modern society, their conditions and factors of occurrence and settlement; to analyze social and political phenomena. To interpret critically the information about socio-political phenomena and processes that is presented in mass conscience, publications in mass media and social networks, its validity from the point of view of modern sociology and political science.

External form

To know the main characteristics of the formation and development of society. To be able to receive and interpret information about social processes, to understand the events taking place in modern society. To have elementary skills of searching, critical selection and systematization of information of both applied and theoretical nature.

The discipline is to highlight the main achievements of global and domestic socio-behavioral and humanitarian knowledge. It reveals the principles and tendencies of functioning of social and political systems overall, state as a fundamental social and political institution, public organizations and political parties and their ideological foundations. Characteristics of traditional and (post)modern, democratic and non-democratic realities are compared.
