Learning outcomes
- to acquaint with the terminological apparatus of the analysis of seismic wave fields; - provide physical and mathematical foundations of the seismic survey method; - mastering by students of the basic methods of seismic exploration on the basis of studying of theoretical bases; -acquisition of practical skills of seismic research; -acquisition by students of necessary methodological knowledge on qualitative and quantitative interpretation of seismic data; - explain the general principles of seismic data processing; - Acquisition by students of basic knowledge on the application of seismic surveys for geological, exploratory, engineering and environmental problems.

1. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of geophysics. 2. Have the skills to work with a personal computer.
Course content
The program of the discipline focuses on the analysis of seismic fields, as well as computer principles of processing and interpretation of observed seismic data. Approaches to solving direct and inverse problems of seismic wave fields are considered. The studied methods of qualitative and quantitative interpretation are explained by real examples. The areas of application of seismometry are characterized and information on the development of the method in the historical aspect is provided. The review includes geological principles of seismic tasks and an overview of ways to implement them and efficiency.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: performance of practical and independent work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher). Assessment in the 7th semester involves an intermediate control, which is set on the results of the student's work throughout the semester, as the sum (simple or weighted) points for systematic work during the 7th semester, and 3 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam.
