Learning outcomes
Series, integral and Fourier transform. Types and functions of spectra. Data sampling. Sample theorem for one-dimensional functions. Kotelnikov interpolation series. Correlation and autocorrelation function. Basic types of filters. Sample theorem for multidimensional data. Spectra of geophysical fields that depend on two spatial coordinates. Interpolation of two-dimensional data. Sequential analysis. Schedule for inharmonic functions. Discrete multidimensional Walsh transformation. Find the amplitude and phase spectra of geophysical data, Apply the basic theorems on Fourier transform in the calculation of spectra, Use the Kotelnikov-Shannon interpolation schedule to recover data Apply spectral analysis in geophysics, Apply modern methods of spectral analysis to solve geological problems and acquire skills of independent use and study of literature in mathematical disciplines.
Form of study
Full-time form

Knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry
Course content
Acquaintance and mastering of modern methods of spectral analysis, theoretical positions and basic applications of mathematical methods of spectral analysis in geology.
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes and independent work of students.
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: practical and independent work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher) and 7 written tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written and oral exam.
