Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before taking this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the socio-political process; 2. Be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena and phenomena of politics, socio-political processes and events; 3. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting in relation to political, economic, socio-cultural events and phenomena; have skills of group work and public discussion.
Course content
The subject of the discipline is the main elements of the social structure, social institutions, trends in the development of the social structure in modern Ukrainian society, features of the latest social phenomena inherent in modern societies caused by the processes of modernisation and globalisation, the functioning and development of modern society, politics and government, human interaction with social and political institutions. The discipline "Social and Political Studies" is based on the knowledge gained by students in the course of studying such basic disciplines as history and philosophy.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Classroom activities: lecture, seminar, analytical task, individual work. Explanatory and demonstrative method, partially search method. Information-demonstration, information-explanatory method. Project method, Work with Internet sources. Activity-communication method: discussions, speeches, answers to questions.
Assessment methods and criteria
