PTR 5. To collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PTR 11. To create oral and written texts of various genres and styles in Ukrainian. apply them in professional activities. PTR 17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them for adequate translation (from Ukrainian into the native language and vice versa) of oral and written texts of different styles and genres. PTR 26. To identify and analyze the national and cultural specifics of verbal and non-verbal communication in Ukrainian.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the Ukrainian language at a level sufficient for analysing specific linguistic material taken from various sources (folklore and fiction texts), contributing to the development and consolidation of skills in linguistic, cultural and philological analysis of Ukrainian literary texts. To have a general understanding of the system of genres, the development of Ukrainian literature XIX-XX centuries, knowledge and understanding of the folklore of the Ukrainian people, basic knowledge of cultural studies, world language and culture, religion and philosophy.
Course content
The aim of the course is to develop students' specific knowledge of the relationship of Ukrainian culture and literature with other cultures of the world and its peculiarities. The course will introduce students to various forms of cultural relations and broaden their knowledge of the relations between the Middle and Far East, the West and Ukraine, as well as builds fundamental knowledge and skills that will be useful in their professional work and help them in preparing for and applying for graduate/professional jobs.

Educational activities: practical classes, homework. Teaching methods: method of problem-based teaching (explanation, discussion, analysis); independent work with scientific and reference literature; method of fixing and training exercises (observation and analysis).
