Learning outcomes
PTR 1. To freely communicate in Ukrainian and Russian languages in the professional sphere with specialists and non-specialists orally and in writing, to use those languages for effective intercultural communication organisation. PTR 11. To create oral and written texts of various genres and styles in Ukrainian. PTR 23. Proficiency in a second foreign language at a level that allows you to meet communication needs in situations of daily communication related to everyday life, education, socio-cultural and socio-political spheres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
to have elementary skills - of reading in English; - listening skills in English; - communicate in English; - be able to clearly distinguish between different grammatical structures and skillfully use them in practice; - use lexical tools in oral and written communication.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline - "Practical course of the second foreign language (English)" is a basic professional discipline for students majoring in "Ukrainian language and translation (for foreigners)". The course involves introductory correction of pronunciation (viz: English vowels and consonants, the use of stress in the sentence and word, phonetic assimilation); consolidation of English language skills corresponding to the A2+/B1- level; study of grammatical categories, in particular verbal aspect categories; study of commonly used vocabulary in accordance with the thematic plan; improving reading and listening skills based on the material of "live" and imitation of "live" English; equipping students with communicative tools for both understanding oral speech and natural generation of oral speech through interactive tasks, games and exercises for understanding/recognition/production of the necessary elements of functional speech.
