Learning outcomes
PTR 1. To freely communicate in Ukrainian and Russian languages in the professional sphere with specialists and non-specialists orally and in writing, to use those languages for effective intercultural communication organisation. PTR 11. To create oral and written texts of various genres and styles in Ukrainian. PTR 23. Proficiency in a second foreign language at a level that allows you to meet communication needs in situations of daily communication related to everyday life, education, socio-cultural and socio-political spheres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the practical English course taught during the second year of study (3-4 semesters). The student should know: - basic morphological, syntactic, grammatical and lexical terms and concepts; - basic lexical items; - basic grammatical phenomena; as well as master at the intermediate level: - competence in listening, reading and writing in English; - skills of language analysis and interpretation at all its structural levels; - principles of working with foreign sources, dictionaries, online platforms; - ability to work with didactic and audiovisual materials.
Course content
"Practical Course of the Second Foreign Language (English)" is a basic professional discipline for students majoring in Ukrainian Language and Translation (for Foreigners). The course covers the basic grammatical, lexical and phonetic aspects of the English language. The lexical and grammatical topics covered by the program allow you to understand the main content of clear normative speech and support conversations on familiar topics. The topics of everyday and routine communication, as well as topics related to staying in an unfamiliar city, finding information, and establishing contacts are central to the discipline. The material corresponds to an intermediate level of English.
