            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            Knowledge of the history of linguistic thought in Turkey; ability to perceive the text of a dictionary and extract the necessary information about a word from it; ability to compare different dictionaries; ability to express and justify one's position on controversial positions or concepts.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The students study the history of the lexicographical tradition of Turkey, the typology of dictionaries, analyse ideographic, linguistic and cultural dictionaries, ways of replenishing and developing the Turkish language vocabulary, the genealogy of the Turkish language, study Turkish vocabulary and borrowings, polysemy and homonymy.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            The discipline "Turkish Lexicographic Tradition" belongs to the list of elective disciplines of the block "Linguistics and Other Turkic Languages" and is taught in the first semester of the second year of master's degree: in accordance with the curriculum of the educational and scientific programme "Oriental Philology, Western European Language and Translation: Turkish Language and Literature". The discipline is an integral part of the formation of the professional competence of future linguists in the field of Turkic philology.  During the course of study, various lexicographic areas of modern Turkish linguistics are studied. The discipline is taught in the form of lectures and seminars in Ukrainian and ends with a test. 
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for the evaluation of oral answers at seminars (РН 1.2-1.3, РН 4), intermediate control in the form of two module tests (РН. 2.3, РН 3.1, РН 4), the last of which is the final one.
