PTR 7. To understand the main problems of philology and ways to solve them using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PTR 8. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language taught during the previous years of study ("Practical Grammar of the Ukrainian Language", "Practical Phonetics of the Ukrainian Language", "Oral Speaking", "Commented Reading of Scientific Texts", "Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language", "Modern Ukrainian Language (Phonetics. Lexicology. Morphology. Word Formation. Syntax)". 2. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of linguistics.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at developing skills of analytical reading of texts of different styles and genres, developing logical thinking, characterizing the specifics of different styles of language, knowing the basic concepts and categories of stylistics, describing lexical, grammatical, morphological and syntactic features of each style and sub-style, understanding the structure and purpose of stylistic analysis of the text, knowing the requirements for writing texts of different styles. Practical tasks are aimed at enriching students' vocabulary; consolidating grammatical and syntactic structures characteristic of each style; developing communicative skills and creative thinking based on comparing their native language with Ukrainian, analyzing texts and situations; students have to create texts of any functional style in its various genres in oral or written form.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Methods: verbal (reproductive and heuristic storytelling, explanation, lecture, conversation); visual (illustration, demonstration). Productive and practical method and method of educational discussion.
Assessment methods and criteria
