Learning outcomes
- Basic concepts and terms of radiometry, classification of methods of nuclear geophysics and laws of radioactive decay - Methods of work with field radiometric instruments and laboratory equipment - Units of measurement of radioactivity and intensity of fields of radioactive radiation - Principles of interaction of heavy and light charged particles, gamma radiation and neutrons with matter - The principle of ionization, scintillation, semiconductor and track detectors - Principles of structure of gamma spectrometers and metrological support of radiometric measurements - Methods of gamma methods, emanation survey, lithogeochemical, radiohydrogeochemical and radiobiobiogeochemical methods - Apply radiometric testing of rocks and ores at the site of their occurrence - Use radiometric methods to search for deposits of radioactive ores, study the geological structure, search and exploration of non-radioactive minerals

Course content
The program of the discipline focuses on the physical foundations of radiometry and nuclear geophysics, as well as the principles of construction of instruments and methods of measuring work. Approaches to solving direct and inverse problems are considered. Methods of qualitative and quantitative interpretation are explained by individual anomalies. Areas of application of geophysical methods on real examples are characterized. The review includes general principles of setting radiometric and nuclear-geophysical problems, an overview of ways to implement them and efficiency.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: independent work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems without limiting the tools and techniques of problem solving), and conducting 2 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam.
