To understand patterns and tendencies of the development and functioning of mental phenomena in the professional tasks’ context. LO4. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know: the basics of general psychology, biology and physiology of the central nervous system. 2. To be able to: determine the physiological foundations of the evolutionary formation of mental activity and psyche in the animal world and the foundations of the formation of intelligence and consciousness in humans; determine to which scientific field of knowledge the observed phenomenon or problem belongs; take into account the degree of development and expression of sociality in different people; to be guided by modern achievements of domestic and foreign science; adequately navigate the choice of modern methods and methods of research. 3. To possess the ability to understand the genetic and historical prerequisites of behavioral reactions and mental phenomena in people.
Course content
The program of study of the selective educational discipline "Zoopsychology" is drawn up in accordance with the educational and professional program of bachelor's training in specialty 053 "Psychology". Zoopsychology is the science of the mental activity of animals, its manifestations, origin and development in species and individual aspects. The mental activity reflects the animal's perception of the world and its attitude towards it, which is manifested in external behavior that can be observed and studied. In practical terms, mental activity can be understood as a set of intellectual processes and emotional states of the educational discipline, which is the study of the role of heredity and the environment in the formation of mental and psychophysiological properties of a person.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral answers (discussion, analytical report): 10 / 6 points Creative works (writing abstracts, creating presentations): 30 / 18 points Test written work: 20 / 12 points The minimum score that must be obtained by the student is 36 points. The maximum score that can be obtained by a student per semester is 60 points. The prescribed forms of semester evaluation cannot exceed 60 points in total. - final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student is 40 points out of 100 scale The form of the exam is oral, with a written component. The exam consists of 4 tasks. The first two theoretical questions are evaluated for 10 points each, the third – practical task – 10 points and the fourth – test tasks – 10 points (1 point for each test question). The grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points.
