Learning outcomes
1. To know the essence of text linguistics in terms of translation, the subject and tasks of text linguistics.
2. To know the Eastern, European and national typologies of texts relevant to translation.
3. To know the genre classifications of A. Neubert, R. Jumpler, W. Koller, B. Zanding, M. Brandes, V. Provotorov.
4. To know the principles and methods of translation of various text genres in line with modern translation theories; cognitive and pragmatic characteristics of implicit meanings of informative texts.
5. Be able to establish criteria of textual relevance for translation; classify texts according to the degree of translatability.
6. Be able to recognise implicit meanings of socio-cultural, socio-psychological and other contexts; interpret the original and analyse the translator's creative methods; perform multigenre translation.
7. Possess the skills of conducting discussions when discussing topics from the course "Genre Theories of Translation".

Prerequisites and co-requisites
According to the requirements of the educational and professional programme, students must:
know
- interrelationships of text linguistics with other translation and linguistic disciplines;
- the range of tasks of genre theories of translation;
be able to:
- research text linguistics on the subject of genre and style from the point of view of rhetoric, comparative stylistics, language history, literature, cognitive linguistics and other philological disciplines;
- apply translation transformations of various types to translate texts belonging to different functional styles, registers and genres;
- translate texts of different genres and styles from Turkish into Ukrainian and vice versa orally and in writing.
Course content
The main objectives of the course "Genre Theories of Translation (Turkish)" are distinguishing textual genres according to the criteria of textuality, implementation of principles, methods and models of translation of various textual genres by means of cognitive modelling from the text, from the author, from reality, from the recipient; development of master students' skills in researching genres, styles, genre and stylistic dominants of various types of texts and cognitive and pragmatic approaches to the text as an object of scientific research of cultural heritage information in translation from and into Turkish.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Essay (work with different sources), scientific analysis of sources on the theory of genres and styles, creative and research tasks, processing of texts of different genres (in Ukrainian, Turkish), oral presentations.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which is 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which is 60% of the total grade.
Assessment of semester work:
1. Work in seminars: 10/26 points.
2. Creative and research tasks: 10/14 points.
3. Module tests №1 and №2: 8/10 points.
4. Exam: 24/40 points.
