Learning outcomes
Analyze the features of natural and anthropogenic systems and objects of the upper crust and its sedimentary layer in particular. Be able to carry out thematic processing and interpretation of geospatial data obtained by various methods of research of the geological environment, to develop appropriate algorithms and software products, to form geodatabases, to create web publications of cartographic data. To know modern methods of research of the upper part of the earth's crust and its sedimentary layer in particular and to be able to apply them in production and research activities. Use the tools of geographic information systems to solve current problems of the geological industry.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have an initial level of information technology; 2. Have the skills to work with a personal computer, have a beginner's level programming knowledge. 3. It is desirable to master the basic course "Geodatabase Management" or similar (no necessarily).
Course content
There is an acquaintance with the basics of designing geodatabase structures, principles of optimization and testing. General design paradigms are studied databases, their place in modern decision support systems and data analysis. Students acquire practical skills of analysis of attributive information and creation of relational geodatabases.
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
1. Geoinformation systems and databases: monograph / V.I. Zatserkovny, V.G. Burachek, О.О. Jeleznyak, А.О. Tereshchenko. - Nizhyn: NDU. M. Gogol, 2014. 2. V. Pasichnyk, V. Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and practical classes, self-study
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and provides: performance of 4 practical works (where students have to demonstrate the quality of the acquired knowledge and solve the tasks using the outlined ones teacher methods and tools), the implementation of 10 independent practical work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve the problem tasks without limiting the tools and techniques of problem solving) and conducting 2 written modular tests. The final evaluation is carried out in the form written test.
