Learning outcomes
Know: the main factors of metamorphism and the corresponding types of metamorphism, the nature of the relationship between material and structural transformations during metamorphism, the existing schemes of stratigraphic and formational division of metamorphic formations of the US. Be able to: analyze the existing geological, structural-formation and tectonic maps of the US and use them in practice, to make kinematic schemes of the Phanerozoic belts of the planet.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Basic knowledge and skills acquired during training and internships during training in PR Baklavr.
Course content
This course combines complex in theoretical terms and important in practical terms sections of structural geology, petrography of metamorphic rocks, stratigraphy of Ukraine and allows you to get a holistic picture of the structure of the US and understand the existing problems in this area. Students study in more depth the structural and material features of the early Precambrian formations of the Ukrainian Shield.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent student work
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. Semester assessment: conducting 2 modular tests, each evaluated at 10 points (6th point mark). Score for work in lectures and seminars - 40 points (marginal score of 36 points). The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam: maximum score of 40 points (maximum score of 24 points). During the exam, the student performs tasks in the exam ticket integrating knowledge and skills in the discipline of Precambrian Geology. Final assessment in the form of an exam is mandatory.
The exam is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester, as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work during the semester and the points obtained during the exam.
