Learning outcomes
- Know and understand the principles of operation and structure of optical and opto-electronic information and measurement systems - Be able to plan and conduct experimental studies of structural, optical and electrophysical properties of organic (including biological and nanoobjects) and inorganic media.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the courses "Optics", "Crystal Optics" and "Atomic Physics" and understand the essence of physical processes that determine the optical properties of crystalline and amorphous media due to the influence of electric, magnetic and acoustic fields. Be able to apply the equations of wave normals and have methods for calculating the optical characteristics of anisotropic media.
Course content
The course "Electromagnetoacoustooptics" considers both classical and quantum
theory of magneto-optical, electro-optical and acousto-optical phenomena. The purpose of the study
disciplines are students mastering the physical foundations of magneto-optical, electro-optical and
acousto-optical phenomena, basic equations describing these phenomena, practical applications of these
phenomena. The educational task of the course is to effectively use the acquired knowledge in scientific
research and optical instrumentation. Learning outcomes are skills
apply magneto-optical, electro-optical and acousto-optical phenomena to solve
practical scientific and production tasks.
