Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basics of physical optics, electrodynamics and quantum mechanics.
2. Know the basics of quantum electronics and have the skills to work with solids
lasers.
Course content
The discipline "Fundamentals of nonlinear optics" studies the nonlinear interaction of light with
the environment underlying nonlinear optical methods of transformation and generation
coherent radiation.
The program consists of four sections (topics):
Topic 1. Nonlinear polarization and interaction of waves in a nonlinear medium.
Topic 2. Generation of optical harmonics and parametric effects in quadratic
environments.
Topic 3. Forced light scattering.
Topic 4. Nonlinear effects in cubic nonlinear media.
