Learning outcomes

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have basic knowledge of the special course "Laser technology and applications quantum electronics "," Optics "," Geometric optics "," Optical technology " spectroscopy ". 2 Have skills in working with basic optical devices: telescope, collimator, interferometer, spectrograph. 3. Have the skills to work with specialized packages for processing physical information "Origin" or "Mathcard".
Course content
Within the framework of a special workshop, methods of adjusting lasers and determination of parameters of their radiation: spectrum, energy, radiation pattern, time characteristics, as well as the transformation of laser beams. The program of the special workshop provides for the performance of eight laboratory works: (topics): 1. Lab.1. Adjustment of the ruby ​​laser resonator. 2. Lab.2. Spectrum of generation and selection of longitudinal modes of ruby ​​laser. 3. Lab.Z. Adjustment of the He-Ne laser resonator. 4. Lab.4. Transverse modes and generation characteristics of He-Ne laser. 5. Lab.5. Dynamics of neodymium laser radiation in free generation modes and quality factor modulation. 6. Lab.6. Dynamics of neodymium laser radiation in free generation modes and quality factor modulation. 7. Lab.7. Transformation of a laser beam by a lens. 8. Lab.8. Adjusting the wavelength of laser generation on organic dye with dispersion resonator.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: laboratory work in a special workshop, consultations. Methods evaluation: survey, written report and defense of each laboratory work. Final the assessment is made on the basis of intermediate assessments of protection of laboratory work (80%) and offset (20%).
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: 1. MR1: performance and protection of laboratory works NoNo 1 -4 1 (24 points - 40 points). 2. MR2: performance and protection of laboratory works No. 5 -8 1 (24 points - 40 points). Final evaluation in the form of a test (12 - 20 points).
