Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The applicant must first master the following disciplines in the scope of teaching at the physical faculties of classical universities:
General Physics. Mechanics. Molecular physics. Mathematical analysis.
Course content
The discipline considers the laws of electrostatics and electrodynamics, including magnetic field, geometric, wave and quantum optics.
The curriculum consists of three sections:
Section 1. Electricity
Section 2. Magnetism
Section 3. Optics
The topics correspond to two content modules:
- module 1: Electricity and magnetism. Chapters 1-2;
- Module 2: Optics. Section 3.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: lectures, seminars, laboratory work, consultations. Assessment methods: modular tests, abstracts, control over the performance of laboratory work, credit for the performance of laboratory work, exam. The final grade is set on the basis of intermediate grades of modular control (60%) and exam (40%).
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: modular tests, abstracts, control over the performance of laboratory work, credit for the performance of laboratory work, exam. The final grade is set on the basis of intermediate grades of modular control (60%) and exam (40%).
Semester assessment:
Modular test 1 (6 points - 10 points).
Colloquium (9 points - 15 points)
Modular test 2 (9 points - 15 points).
Other types of control (12 points - 20 points).
Final assessment in the form of an exam (mandatory examination in writing).
A student is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 36 points during the semester. The grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points to get an overall positive grade for the course.
