Learning outcomes
- Understand the interdisciplinary context of the specialty - Be able to use the principles and methods of reproduction of reference quantities in the construction of reference measuring instruments - Know and understand modern theoretical and experimental research methods to assess the accuracy of results - Know, understand and be able to apply basic principles of general and theoretical physics, in particular, classical, relativistic and quantum mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics, electromagnetism, wave and quantum optics, atomic and atomic nucleus physics to establish, analyze, interpret, explain and classify the essence and mechanisms of various physical phenomena and processes to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in physics, optics and laser physics - Know and understand the physical foundations of optical phenomena and processes: analyze, explain and classify optical phenomena.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
One semester of courses: General Physics: Mechanics and Molecular Physics; Mathematical analysis; Linear algebra and analytical geometry, differential equations and numerical methods.
Course content
The course includes the basic concepts of Newtonian mechanics, Lagrange mechanics, absolutely solid mechanics, vibration theory, basics of analytical mechanics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: Lectures, practical, homework, modular test, exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: MCR 1 - 15 points; MCR 2 - 15 points; Colloquium - 10 points; Homework - 20 points. Final assessment in the form of an exam - 40 points. Conditions for admission to the final exam: A student is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 36 points during the semester.
