Analyze and evaluate the impact of information-measuring technology and metrological activities on the environment and safety human activities. 4. To understand the methodological and philosophical aspects of modern science and their place in the process of scientific research. 5. Understand the basics of patent science and have the skills to protect intellectual property. 6. Formulate working hypotheses of the investigated problem, choose and be able to justify the necessary and effective methods of their experimental research depending on the subject and object of research.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of "Philosophy" courses. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the professional discipline. 2. Know the main aspects of the formation and development of legal institutions; speak English at a basic level. 3. To be able to evaluate and determine the role and tasks of protecting intellectual property objects in accordance with the tasks of one's field, to be able to analyze the provisions of regulatory acts, work with patent databases, search for patents and analyze a patent as a document. 4. Possess elementary skills in identifying objects of intellectual property rights and determining the conditions for their protection. 5 Have basic knowledge of classroom and theoretical physics courses. 6 To be familiar with English physics terminology.
Course content
The program of the academic discipline consists of three content modules. The first module is "Methodology of Scientific Research". This module reveals the meaning of the concepts of "methodology", "methodology", "research methods", the understanding of science as research, specifically scientific, general scientific and philosophical levels of methodology are considered. A set of methodological systems of modern philosophy of science is outlined. The structure of theoretical and empirical knowledge in unity with the methods of theoretical and empirical research is considered. The methodological problems of nonlinear science, which determine the state of modern scientific methodology, are highlighted. In the second module, the main terms, principles of intellectual property law, approaches to protecting the results of intellectual activity, familiarization with the main institutions of intellectual property law, the list of subjects of intellectual property law, the content of property and personal non-property rights of intellectual property, the study of legal categories of patent law are studied. , procedures for acquiring patent rights. Third module "Exchange of scientific information". In this module, the forms of exchange of scientific information are disclosed, generally accepted formats of scientific articles, reports at conferences, scientific presentations are presented, information about known databases of scientific publications, journal ratings and citation indexes, and general ideas about scientometrics are presented.

Assessment methods and criteria
The form of work control during the first module: at lectures - written express tests. Independent work, planned in the amount of 20 hours. The form of its control is the preparation of the abstract and the final control work. Semester evaluation: 1. tests at lectures (max. 15 points, min. 5) 2. essays (max. 12 points per one, min. 6 points per one) 3. final test (max. 6 points, min. 3 points) Final assessment in the form of credit (max 33 points, min 20 points). Semester forms of student assessment during the second module: 1. independent written work (work with the patent database, patent analysis) - 10 points 2. scientific work (essay, abstract) - up to 10 points; 3. modular control work - up to 13 points; The minimum score for the second module is 17 points. the maximum score is 33 points. Student evaluation forms during the third module: modular homework RN 1.2 (10 points); work at lectures (questions and discussions) RN 3.1 (10 points). Maximum of 13 points on the test.
