Learning outcomes
1.1 To know: the formulation of concepts and basic laws of symmetry and structure of functional materials, including modern nanomaterials; how to explain the properties of these materials due to their structure. 1.2 To be able to: solve standard problems, develop skills in working with laboratory equipment, acquire skills of independent use, and study literature.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the basics of general physics, quantum mechanics. 2. To be able to apply previous knowledge of the courses of mathematical analysis, differential and integral equations, general physics 3. Have basic skills in using a personal computer.
Course content
CM I. Topic 1 Crystal lattices and their symmetry. Topic 2. Crystallography of planes and directions. Topic.3. Stereographic projection of crystals. Topic 4. Crystal structures. CM II. Topic 5. The structure of polymers. Topic 6. The structure of fullerites. Topic 7. The structure of nanotubes.
