Learning outcomes
PLO 6. Use information and communicative technologies to solve complicated specialized tasks and professional issues. PLO 7. To understand major problems of philology and approaches to their solution with the use of relevant methods, in particular, innovative interdisciplinary approaches of applied (computational) linguistics and information technologies; to explain their interrelation in the integrated system of interdisciplinary knowledge. PLO 12. To analyze language units, phenomena, and processes by methods of structural, mathematical, and computational linguistics; to represent the processes of analysis and synthesis of linguistic objects in an algorithmic way. PLO 16, 17.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, the theory of linguistic studies, mathematical and computer linguistics, and corpus linguistics; Successful mastering of courses on the automation of morphological, syntactic, semantic analysis, and linguistic statistics. Mastering the technique of automatic parameterization of texts, stylistic analysis; basics of computer technology.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with knowledge about the principles of political discourse analysis, to promote the formation of skills in the application of methods of automatic text analysis, and critical discourse analysis, to consolidate the skills of statistical, morphological, syntactic, and semantic analysis when applied to political discourse texts in order to form the necessary professional competencies students, future specialists - applied linguists capable of developing software and linguistic products.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar and laboratory classes, and independent work. Types of work: Written test; Oral answer; Additions, participation in the discussion; Preparation of a practical project on automating the analysis of political discourse.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out according to the types of work: Test - 30/18 points; Oral answer - 24/16 points; Additions, participation in the discussion - 6/2 points; Preparation of a practical project on automating the analysis of political discourse - 40/24 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work during the entire semester and does not include additional evaluation measures. Education seekers who scored the minimum positive number of points (60) get "Passed". Education seekers who did not score the minimum positive number of points (60) get "Failed".
