Course content
The discipline is one of the key components of comprehensive training of specialists in the educational and qualification level "bachelor". This discipline is based on a cycle of disciplines of professional and practical training, in particular, "Introduction to Linguistics", "Theoretical Course of English", and "Linguistics of the Country whose Language is Studied". Learning English is based on the basic principles of the communicative approach to learning a foreign language using authentic materials and modeling real communicative situations. Tasks (learning objectives) are to learn the main linguistic units and their properties; to get acquainted with the units of all levels of English in accordance with the topics, areas, and situations of communication provided by the program (orthoepic, spelling, lexical, grammatical and stylistic norms of English); develop receptive and productive speech skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening); develop the ability to use English to obtain and transmit information, as well as the ability to interact with a communication partner in different situational contexts.
