Learning outcomes

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic laws of mechanics, molecular physics, electricity and magnetism, the basics of mathematical analysis, ordinary differential equations, the basics of mathematical physics. 2. Be able to apply previous knowledge of the courses of mechanics, molecular physics, electricity and magnetism, mathematical analysis, basics of vector and tensor analysis and differential equations to describe optical phenomena and solve physical problems in the course of optics. 3. Have basic skills in solving physical problems of various types, calculation of derivatives, integrals, actions on operations with vectors, build graphs of functions.
Course content
The subject of the discipline "Optics" is the study of physical properties of electromagnetic radiation in the optical frequency range, features of interference and diffraction of light, experimental and theoretical study of light radiation, its propagation in environments, absorption in the environment, and refraction and reflection at the interface interaction of several light fluxes, formation of coherent light sources, description of principles of optical measurements, physical bases and principles of operation of optical devices.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: 1. Colloquium: 20 points 2. Evaluation of the results of tests and tests conducted during practical classes: 10 points 3. Evaluation of the results of independent tasks: 10 points 4. Final test: 10 points. Final evaluation: The final control of the student's knowledge is carried out in the form of an exam, during which the maximum number of points can be obtained - 50 points.
