            PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional
community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels.
PLO 21. To know the specifics of translator’s work in various fields (textual,
media, audiovisual, web-space) and be able to use necessary tools and techniques.
PLO 23. To be able to plan the process of specialized interpreting and translation
in accordance to the stages of a translation project.
PLO 24.2 To apply principles of oral translation, note-taking, and oral translator’s
rhetoric techniques in English.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            Prerequisites for mastering the discipline:
- successful completion of the course: availability of basic practical training
translation of non-specialized texts (written and oral), knowledge
of Spanish (foreign) language at a level not lower than B2, native knowledge
(Ukrainian) language, literacy in native (Ukrainian) language, skills
eloquence, broad general erudition;
- knowledge of theoretical foundations: basic translation competence;
understanding the concepts of adequacy and requirements for translation adequacy,
equivalence, translation situation, basic translation
strategies, names of the most common translation techniques, techniques,
ways.
- the ability to perform paragraph-phrase sequential translation
specialized and non-specialized texts.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            Such factors as the high cultural and intellectual level of the participants
events of international relevance, stylistic richness and diversity
topics of speeches, significant role of diplomacy, socio-political
the context determines the main areas of training in the discipline
"Interpreting conferences": expanding background knowledge and their ability
to acquire and reproduce according to the translation situation; language skills
(lexical equivalents of terms, clichés, fixed expressions, proper names,
phraseological units, world-famous allusions and other elements
intertextuality);development of skills and abilities necessary for
successful performance of consecutive oral interpretation taking into account
previously specified specifics.
Classes are held in Spanish. Discipline ends with an

            Educational activities during the semester: lectures, practical classes, independent work.
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            
Evaluation methods: oral answers during the blitz survey, test on
knowledge of interlanguage equivalents, sequential translation of simulated
conferences, lecture notes, lecture content test.
In particular, the test for knowledge of interlanguage equivalents: RN 1.4; min. – 15 points;
max. – 25 points;
sequential translation of the simulated conference: RN 1.0-1.4, RN 2.1-2.3,
PH 3.1-3.3; min. – 15 points; max. – 26 points;
lecture notes: RN 1.0-1.3; min. – 1.2 points; max. – 16 points;
test on the content of lectures: RN 1.0-1.4, RN 2.1-2.3, RN 3.1-3.3, RN 4.1-4.2; min. –
9 points; max. - 14 points.
