Learning outcomes
PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific linguistic field. PLO 15. To choose optimal research approaches and methods of analysis for the specific language and literary material. PLO 19. To detect systemic interlingual differences and take them into account in translation practice. PLO 20. To undertake pre-translation analysis of specialized texts of various styles and genres PLO 21. To know the specifics of translator’s work in various fields (textual, media, audiovisual, web-space) and be able to use necessary tools and techniques.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know and understand the basic translation concepts and principles of language material analysis; phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical features of the official and scientific styles of the Portuguese and Ukrainian languages; peculiarities of the creation and use of terms of different terminological systems of the Portuguese and Ukrainian languages. • Be able to apply linguistic tools in practice; to be able to create oral and written texts in Portuguese and Ukrainian. • Possess the skills of written translation from Portuguese into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into Portuguese; consecutive oral translation and translation from a sheet of paper from Portuguuese into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into Portuguese
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form students' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in translating socio-political, legal, scientific and technical texts from the Portuguuese language into Ukrainian and from the Ukrainian language into Portuguuese , which is a mandatory component of the work of a future translator. The educational discipline consists of two parts: the first, "Components of professional competence of a translator of documents of international organizations", is aimed at mastering the main morphosyntactic, lexical and stylistic features of such documents. The second part, "Typology of documents of international organizations", aims to acquaint students with various types of oral, written and audiovisual documents and methods of their adequate and equivalent translation. The educational discipline, firstly, continues the development of the terminological language toolkit, the study of specialized terminology, and, secondly, allows you to develop and improve the skills needed for a professional working in a highly specialized field.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for the evaluation of the learned material according to the following criteria: evaluation of theoretical training - learning results (knowledge 1.1 - 1.3), which makes up 40% of the total grade; and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1 - 2.3); (communication 3.1 - 3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1 - 4.2), which is 60% of the total grade. Throughout the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, practical classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1 of the RPND. The discipline ends with an exam. The maximum number of points in the exam: 40 points. Students who scored a total number of points lower than the critical calculation minimum (36 points) are not allowed to take the exam.
