Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully master the knowledge of the discipline, students must:
have basic knowledge of the theoretical and methodological foundations of social geography;
to be able to analyze economic and social processes in society, identify their features, causes and evaluate the consequences of economic, social and environmental problems in the regions;
to possess modern quantitative and qualitative methods of research, to be able to apply them in scientific and research activities.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of modern concepts of spatial organization, in particular, concepts of regionalization of space, concepts of polarization of space, concepts of cluster-network organization of space, and concepts of space perception.
Thematically, the discipline is divided into 2 parts.
Part 1 Modern concepts of regionalization and polarization of space.
Part 2 Modern concepts of unevenness of spatial development and perception of space.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent work, discussions, solving specific problems and situations.
Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline consists of two substantive parts, each of which ends with a thematic test and involves a final test in the form of an exam. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale (the grade is calculated as accumulated). According to the evaluations of the current control and the results of the thematic control works, the sum of points is set for a separate content part.
The final (semester) control of students' knowledge of the discipline is a written exam. The maximum number of points according to the exam results is 40 points.
The final grade for the discipline is formed as the sum of the points received: for work during the semester in seminar classes, individual practical tasks, thematic control papers (maximum 60 points) and for a written answer to the exam (maximum 40 points).
