Course content
The academic discipline "Hydrobiology" is a component of the professional training program of specialists of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in the specialty "Biology". It highlights the issues of the peculiarities of the existence of representatives of various taxonomic and ecological groups of living organisms in the aquatic environment, their ability to adapt to variable environmental factors and the formation of supra-organismal level groups, the patterns of development of aquatic ecosystems in water bodies of various types and the role of aquatic organisms in the formation of bioproductivity and water quality. The discipline is designed to generalize the idea of the specifics of the habitat and adaptation of living organisms to the aquatic environment and to form an understanding of the complex interactions between hydrobionts and their groups within the ecosystems of different types of water bodies.
