Course content
The academic discipline "Systematics and Taxonomy of Bacteria" is a component of the educational program for professional training of specialists with the educational degree "Bachelor". The discipline is a basic discipline that covers the issue of the position of prokaryotic microorganisms in the system of living beings. The sections of the program allow students to get an idea of different groups of prokaryotes. The presented material provides a sufficient level of knowledge for modern microbiologists to detect and identify cultivated forms of microorganisms. The lecture material is grouped and considered in such a way that in some cases individual representatives of taxonomic groups are characterized, and in others - their certain physiological groups. An important place is given to the issue of the difference in structure between the 1st and 2nd editions of "Bergei's Systematics of Bacteria", as well as the main groups of the 9th edition of "Bergei's Bacterial Determinant"
