Course content
The academic discipline "Mechanisms of evasion of immune surveillance by microorganisms"
is a component of the educational program for professional training of specialists of the educational degree "Bachelor". The discipline is selective and is dedicated to the study of the main mechanisms of microorganisms' resistance to recognition and elimination by means of immune reactivity.
The educational discipline "Mechanisms of evasion of immune surveillance by microorganisms"
covers the consideration of the mechanisms of adaptation of pathogens with extracellular and intracellular forms of parasitism to the aggressive environment of fluids, tissues and host cells. The mechanisms of evasion of recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns by pattern-recognizing membrane, cytosolic and secreted structures are studied. Particular attention is paid to pathogen-mediated mechanisms of resistance to the phagocyte system.
A review of the means of evasion and suppression of humoral innate immunity, as well as the reactions of adaptive anti-infectious immunity is carried out. Separately, the mechanisms of molecular mimicry of pathogens are briefly considered as a mechanism for the induction of post-infectious autoaggression.
