Course content
"Laboratory Practicum in Reproductive Biology" is a component of the educational program for professional training of specialists of the "Bachelor" educational level in the "Reproductive Biology" training direction. The discipline is basic for obtaining practical skills and mastering the basic methods of cytogenetics, developmental biology, histopathology of the reproductive system and molecular embryology. Laboratory practicum is a complex discipline consisting of sections of laboratory classes in accordance with the disciplines of the training direction taught in the 4th year of the "Bachelor" educational level. In the cycle of laboratory work, elementary methodological approaches for conducting research, diagnostics and setting methods in such specialized areas as hormonal regulation of ontogenesis, pathology of the reproductive system, cytogenetic foundations of embryonic development are mastered. During laboratory classes, students master methodological techniques for analyzing the functional state of organs and tissues to identify their cellular and tissue composition at the macro- and microscopic levels of not only the organs of the reproductive system, but also the entire organism. Attention is paid to familiarizing students with the basic methods and techniques of cytogenetic and molecular-cellular studies, which can be used when conducting experiments in related fields of biological and medical sciences for practical purposes. Students master the basic principles of analyzing histological preparations of various organ systems, which are subsequently widely used both in the educational process and scientific research, and in the clinical practice of doctors, laboratory assistants, embryologists, and reproductive biologists.
