Course content
“Genome Analysis and Editing” covers the theoretical principles and practical aspects of genome analysis and editing at the modern level. Particular attention is paid to the principles and methods of bioengineering and gene therapy, as well as the features of their application both in studies of individual organisms and in population studies of different species. The course considers modern DNA sequencing methods, in particular, comparing sequencing technologies of different generations. Approaches to preparing samples for sequencing, creating genomic libraries, and methods for reducing errors at this stage are analyzed in detail. A significant part of the course is devoted to the latest genome editing technologies, in particular CRISPR/Cas systems, as well as methods of their application in human gene therapy. The discipline is interdisciplinary in nature and forms the fundamental knowledge necessary for work in the fields of molecular biology, biomedicine, bioengineering, and biotechnology.
