Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses "Molecular Biology of Viruses", "Virus Genetics", "Virus Biochemistry", "Microbiology", "Virusology", "General Genetics".
2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and other disciplines, work with scientific and methodological literature.
3. Possess elementary skills in the targeted use of laboratory equipment and/or reagents.
Course content
The academic discipline "Laboratory Practicum in Virology" is a discipline of free choice for a student of the program for training specialists with the educational degree "Bachelor" in the direction of training "Biology", according to the training program "Biology". It is a basic discipline and covers the issues of practical skills in working with viruses of microorganisms, in particular, the study of their biological properties. The discipline generalizes the student's understanding of the basic methods of working with viruses, and also provides the student with the opportunity to master the skills of planning and conducting experimental work using various methods and methodological techniques to solve a specific scientific and practical problem, statistical processing of the obtained data and interpretation of the experimental results.
