Learning outcomes
PR01. Understand the social and economic consequences of the introduction of the latest developments in the field of biology in professional activities.
PR02. Apply modern information technologies, software and Internet resources to provide information for professional activities.
PROZ. Plan, perform, analyze data and present the results of experimental research in the field of biology.
PR05. Demonstrate skills in assessing unpredictable biological problems and thoughtfully choosing ways to solve them.
PR06. Apply models, methods and data from physics, chemistry, ecology, mathematics in the process of learning and providing professional activities.
PR08. Know and understand the basic terms, concepts, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and at the border of subject areas.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the academic disciplines "Botany", "Plant Physiology", "Biochemistry",
"Biotechnology", "Modern Information Technologies in Biology", "Statistical Methods in Biology",
"General Genetics", "Microbiology", deepening the acquired knowledge and skills of practical scientific and experimental work during the "Academic Practice in Botany and Zoology".
2. The ability to independently apply knowledge of botany, plant anatomy and physiology, biochemistry,
biotechnology and other disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature.
3. Possession of elementary skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological and chemical laboratories.
Course content
The course consists of sections on: the structure and function of the plant root system as an organ of absorption and metabolism; mechanisms of absorption and transport of mineral elements, metabolism and physiological and biochemical significance of the most important macro- and microelements; ecological significance of root secretions, diagnostics of plant nutrition, physiological principles of the use of fertilizers; morphological and anatomical diversity of vegetative and reproductive organs of flowering plants, adaptive adaptations of flowers to different growth conditions; methods for assessing structural and functional features of plant adaptation to adverse factors; diversity of algae.
