Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of scientific, theoretical and practical material of academic disciplines taught to students of the educational level "Bachelor", in particular "Biophysics", "Biochemistry", "Physiology and Anatomy of Humans and Animals", "Molecular Biology", "General Genetics".
2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics and other disciplines, work with scientific and methodological literature.
3. Have skills in working with a computer, materials and equipment used in biological laboratories
Course content
The subject of the academic discipline is the electrical properties of cells and tissues, physicochemical processes that underlie electrogenesis, in particular biophysical and molecular mechanisms of formation and maintenance of transmembrane ion gradients and transmembrane ion transport. The main electrophysiological methods for studying multicellular preparations and isolated cells, the principles of operation of modern robotic patch-clamp systems, the basic principles of classical biophysics of ion channels, molecular biophysics and physiology of ion channels, modern classification of potential- and ligand-gated ion channels and their numerical functions, biophysical and molecular mechanisms of calcium homeostasis and signaling are considered. In the future, the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of “Electrobiophysics and Biophysics of Membranes” can be applied both in scientific research in the field of biophysics and interdisciplinary research.
