Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the academic disciplines "General Cytology",
"Histology", "Molecular Biology", "Biochemistry", "General Genetics", "Biophysics".
2. Ability to independently apply knowledge of general cytology, histology,
molecular biology, biochemistry, general genetics, biophysics and other disciplines to
solve specific scientific and practical tasks; work with scientific and scientific-methodological literature.
3. Possession of basic skills of systems analysis.
Course content
The academic discipline "Selected Sections of Cytology" is a component of the professional training program for specialists of the "Bachelor" educational level under the educational program "Biology" (a discipline of free choice of the student under the block of professionally oriented disciplines "Cytology and Histology"). The discipline is an elective discipline that highlights the issues of the patterns of morphofunctional changes in cells when changing their physiological status, at different stages of development, in normal and pathological conditions, which is the object of activity of a wide range of cytologists and cell biologists, and also outlines the range of cytological research methods, methodological techniques and analysis algorithms that can be used when conducting experiments in related scientific areas and within the framework of interdisciplinary projects, and which require in-depth knowledge of cytology. The discipline is designed to generalize the idea of the systematic organization of living things and the role of regularly organized cellular systems in the formation, functioning, and plasticity of supracellular groups.
