Learning outcomes
P02. Know and understand the main types of geographical activity, their division in general and in particular in the field of transboundary ecological cooperation. P07. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape envelope and its components. P08. Apply models, methods of physics, chemistry, geology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. in the study of natural and social processes of the formation and development of landscapes and their components. P09. Analyze the composition and structure of natural and sociospheres that are within the scope of interests of transboundary, regional and local projects at different spatial and temporal scales in order to ensure successful ecological cooperation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the key principles of the theory of geographic information systems and technologies.
2. Be able to use GIS tools.
3. Have the skills to apply statistical and stochastic mathematical methods in geography.
Course content
The academic discipline is dedicated to the study of: concepts of models and modeling and their classifications; foundations of stochastic modeling of the state and forecasting of the dynamics of natural geosystems; foundations of geoecological model zoning; approaches to the implementation of methodological-optimization and methodological-applied and model-forecasting solutions, as well as methods of thematic modeling of typical natural geosystems, in particular basin geosystems, econetworks and coastal geotones. The discipline is designed to form strategic ideas among students regarding methods of modern modeling and forecasting of processes and phenomena and the state of objects in natural geography.
