Course content
Clinical (medical) nutrition in patients with surgical pathology, especially in oncological diseases, is a stable practice in the EU, the USA, and other developed countries. The global trend of recent years is the appointment of enteral nutrition, preferably sipping forms, to patients with impaired nutritional status. In Ukraine, starting from 2000, specialized clinical nutrition began to be used, primarily in intensive care units (parenteral and enteral), but much less widely than in the EU. Studying the discipline "Current issues of clinical nutrition in surgery" allows students to gain knowledge about modern world approaches to this important component of patient treatment, which will allow future doctors to implement treatment standards at the level of the most developed countries in the world.
