PRN2. Be able to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances of inorganic, organic and biological origin, using appropriate methods PRN3. Be able to calculate the composition of nutrient media, determine the features of their preparation and sterilization, carry out quality control of raw materials and finished products based on knowledge of the physicochemical properties of organic and inorganic substances PRN6. Be able to determine and analyze the main physicochemical properties of organic compounds that are part of biological agents (proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids) PRN7. Be able to apply knowledge of the composition and structure of cells of various biological agents to determine optimal cultivation conditions and the potential for using the studied cells in biotechnology.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Be able to write chemical reaction equations. 2. Have basic knowledge of general, inorganic and organic chemistry. 3. Have basic skills in the simplest operations in a chemical laboratory.
Course content
Within the framework of the academic discipline "Analytical Chemistry", methods of expressing and calculating concentrations of substances in solutions and solid samples are considered, the basic concepts of classical methods of analysis, the concept of pH of a solution, the basics of titrimetric, spectroscopic and electrochemical methods of analysis, general approaches to the analysis of biological matrices. Students acquire skills in working with measuring vessels (pipettes, burettes, volumetric flasks), preparing solutions from fixatives, taking samples of dry substances and preparing less concentrated solutions by diluting concentrated ones.
