Know: main principles and methods of modeling geological systems, methods of mathematical modeling in geology, features of statistical and deterministic models for modeling geological systems, main principles and methods of laboratory modeling in geology, methods for determining the stress-strain state of natural man-made systems.
Be able to: Use specialized software for modeling geological systems, determine the stress-strain state (NDS) of the rock complex in a landslide slope,
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge and skills in the field of modeling of geological processes and structures, possession of specialized software for modeling and spatial analysis of data, modeling of mineral deposits, geological and economic assessment of minerals.
Course content
During the internship, the applicant, with the help of a teacher, conducts research work without interruption from the educational process. To perform such work, one or a set of research methods taught within the framework of this program is used, and focused on solving specific issues of geological modeling, studying the geological structure and geological development of specific areas, or using isotope chemistry to study the geochronology of the Earth's evolution using modern technologies and research methods. Research work consists in testing the results of the applicant's independent scientific contribution based on materials obtained and processed by him personally, as well as containing an analysis of literary sources. Also, to interest the student in further work in the field of scientific activity with testing the obtained research results at scientific conferences or publishing them in scientific publications.

Assessment methods and criteria
Final evaluation in the form of a test. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
Conducting scientific research work and processing research data – 30 points (cut-off score 18 points).
Interpretation of the obtained research results – 30 points (cut-off score 18 points).
Final assessment in the form of a differentiated test: maximum score 40 points, cut-off score 24 points. The final grade for the internship is given taking into account the feedback of teachers, and includes an assessment of the obtained results, their scientific value and innovation.
