Learning outcomes
PRN02. Apply knowledge to identify and address issues and make informed decisions in the Earth sciences. PRN04. Develop, lead, and manage projects in the Earth sciences; evaluate and ensure the quality of work. PRN05. Plan and conduct scientific experiments, and write scientific papers in the field. PRN06. Be able to conduct environmental assessments, audits, licensing, and certification of natural resource use, and predict the development of environmental, technological, economic, and social consequences at specific sites of natural resource use. PRN07. Be familiar with modern methods of studying the Earth and its geospheres and be able to apply them in production and research activities. PRN08. Be familiar with the basic principles of managing enterprises in the field of natural resource use, their organization, and their production and organizational management structures.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses Microclimatology, Global Climate Dynamics climate dynamics. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the study of the impact of weather and climate on human activity. Ability to evaluate and analyze the features and consequences of the impact of meteorological and climatic conditions on natural and and transformed components of territorial complexes. Possession of skills of processing meteorological and climatic information, methods of mathematical modeling, forecasting methods, methods of synthesis and analysis of information synthesis and analysis.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of methods, indicators and criteria that allow to provide a quantitative assessment of the impact of weather and climate on the main production processes in the fields of energy (nuclear, thermal, hydropower), agriculture (crop production, livestock), forestry, construction, transport (land, water, air), housing and utilities, as well as on the territorial structure and development of tourism and recreation. Structurally, the course consists of two content modules.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out by a module-rating system, which provides a two-level assessment of the material learned. The maximum score is 100 points, 60 of which the student can gain during the semester control and 40 points - at the exam. The content module 1 (CM1) includes 12 topics, the content module 2 (CM2) - 39 topics.
