PLO7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO8. Know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Vietnamese language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, determine their specifics and place in the literary process. PLO15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO22. Carry out multidisciplinary bilateral Vietnamese-Ukrainian translation.

Successful completion of the courses “Vietnamese Language: Advanced Level”, “Fundamentals of Translation Theory”, “Fundamentals of Translation Practice”, “Practice of Vietnamese Translation”, “Oral and Ancient Literature of Vietnam”, “Medieval Vietnamese Literature”, “Vietnamese Literature of the Modern Era”, “Stylistics of the Vietnamese Language”. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation from Vietnamese. Advanced knowledge of Vietnamese vocabulary and grammar. Ability to translate texts from Vietnamese into Ukrainian at a sufficient level.

The academic discipline “Vietnamese Poetics: Aspect of Translation Studies” belongs to the list of elective disciplines within the elective block 2 “Vietnam Studies. Sectoral Translation”. The course program is aimed at developing students’ skills in translating Vietnamese poetic texts. The discipline provides an understanding of the features of Vietnamese poetics, traditional and modern poetic forms and poetic meters. Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of figurative language means typical of Vietnamese poetic works. The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the features of Vietnamese poetics, to improve their professional competencies in the field of Vietnamese-Ukrainian translation, in particular poetic texts.

The course provides for the following forms of organization of training: practical classes and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: oral response, written work, creative task, modular control work. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; in total: in the maximum dimension 100 points, in the minimum dimension 60 points. The discipline ends with a test, which is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Assessment criteria are presented in the discipline's work program, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
