Course content
The discipline is a basic botanical discipline aimed at theoretical and practical mastery of the basics of mycology by students: students get acquainted with the diversity of true fungi (FUNGI) and mushroom-like organisms (Chromista, Protozoa), their main features and division into certain taxonomic groups, their life cycles, mechanisms and ways of damaging plants and animals, etc. It is important to form ideas about the place of fungi in the system of the organic world, their origin and phylogenetic relationships. An integral result of mastering this discipline is the ability to formulate clear, concise conclusions about the functional role of fungi in ecosystems, positive and negative aspects of their life in the historical and modern context using the example of the main (model) species, modern fundamental scientific and applied aspects of the study of fungi, areas of application of this knowledge to solve problems in other fundamental and applied sciences.
